EP 10: Living with a Life-Threatening Injury
Turning Pain into Purpose
In Episode 10, we hear from Breinne Hendrickson, a young marketing professional, aspiring life coach, and positivity enthusiast as she shares her story. In 2017, while on a date, Breinne was in a life-changing car accident that left her with a broken neck. The recovery that was only supposed to take 6 weeks in a neck brace is still ongoing, 2.5 years later. Two and a half years of continuous bad news from her doctors with minimal assurance that it will ever heal. Listen how she turned her pain into purpose throughout this process. How she stayed positive when her caretaker, the driver in the accident, left. How she still manages to carry hope for her future despite basically living as a porcelain doll, not knowing if a fall, a trip, a move gone wrong could be her last. You’ll hear one of the most positive perspectives I’ve heard through a very frustrating and terrifying reality. I even express my own frustration that she’s not as upset as I think she should be. However, she’s moved forward with purpose and grace, and is very present wherever she is. She chooses to be free. Thank you for sharing your story and your positive perspective with me, Breinne. You are a fighter!
